Self Drive Horsebox Hire
Horsebox hire is growing ever more popular as it offers a cheaper option to owning your own box for those who only transport their horses occasionally or those who use a trailer for short distances but want comfort on longer journeys and stays.
We offer two vehicles for hire a 3.5T two horse (up to 17 hands depending on weight) Huish Trecker with tack area and a 7.5T Huish built Iveco three horse with day living and tack area.
The Trecker is ideal for attending one day shows or moving horses especially long distances due to its smooth ride for horses and great fuel economy. The 7.5ton Iveco is excellant for attending two or three day events or moving larger horses.

Allowance of 100km/mi per hire day, any km/mi used over this are charged at 20p per km/mi
Deposit:
We ask for a £60.00 deposit at the time of booking to secure the hire and a further deposit, as set out in the table above, on collection of the vehicle. The hire cost is then totalled and deducted from your deposit, you are then either refunded the difference or be invoiced should the total hire cost be more then the deposit.

All vehicles come with fully comprehensive insurance, full break down cover and the added assurance that they have been maintained by ourselves.
Terms and Conditions:
1. Vehicle to be returned at any time. Must not be any later than 9.30 am after the end of the hire date. If you are dropping the vehicle off after working hours, please lock vehicle and put keys through the letter box of reception door
2. The vehicle will be supplied with a full tank of diesel, a gas bottle and a full water tank. The diesel tank will be topped up on return and amount of diesel used will be added to the hire cost, at the average diesel price at the hire time.
3. A card deposit will be required on collection of the vehicle of £450.00, less deposit. This will be refunded on return of the vehicle , less the price of hire and costs of damage incurred, if any. Should the deposit paid be insufficient to cover hire charges and/or any repairs, etc the additional amount due shall be taken from the hirer’s card.
4. The cost of hire is based on a maximum of 100 km per day. Any extra kms will be charged at 20p per km plus VAT.
5. The carrying capacity will be stated on the hire contract. Not over loading the vehicle is the responsibility of the hirer, ie : the weight must not exceed the maximum gross weight of the vehicle.
6. If the vehicle breaks down, there will be a phone number in the cab to ring for assistance. Simon’s mobile number : 07742402701.
7. If you are stopped by the police and are asked for your taco card, you are taco exempt. The exempt form is kept at Exeter VOSA Test Station.
8. Any speeding or parking offences will be transferred to the hirer’s name and address.
9. Owners who leave their vehicles at Huish do so at their own risk and NO responsibility will taken by Huish if any loss or damage is caused.
10. Should any damage to the vehicle occur during the hire period they will be charged as follows:
a) Small damages under relevant insurance excess will be charged accordingly.
b) Larger damages over relevant insurance excess, insurance excess only will be charged as indicated below:

11. The vehicle should be returned at the end of hire in the same clean condition as it was at the start of hire. Should further cleaning be required in order to re-hire additional charges will be applied for cleaning at £33.50 plus VAT.
12. If you are intending to drive to or through London please be aware of the Low Emission Zone. You are not permitted to use this area as from February 2008. You will be heavily fined, which you will be liable to pay, not Huish Horseboxes. You can contact the London Transport helpline for help on 020 7222 1234.
